How sad that such a great down to earth driver will be leaving V8 supercars series at the end of 2005 season to pursue a career in nascar series. :(

I think it's great, he's going to further his career and hopefully get a name in such a HUGE sport in the USA.

I cannot possibly understand why someone would leave an exciting intresting form of road racing to go and race around in circles in a death trap vehicle. And to make it worse, he wants to do it with americans!!!
If he's that stupid then good riddance to bad rubbish.

Well I guess its good that they are not holding him back.
I wish he would stay and kill the holdungs for another 5 years.
I hope he gets Bathurst and the Championship so he leaves on a high.

Hey Punnisher thats a tad harsh.

2 Championships hopefully another hes an absolute legend...Hes a top driver and a good personality for V8's...
Good luck to him and shove it up those Yanks!!

I wonder who will take his spot?? If Lowndes isnt successful with 888, a possible jump maybe??? something to look forward to..

Correct.

It'll be sad to see him leave the V8's, but I don't mind the Nascar series, it'll be great to have an aussie to go for!

You're a f**k knob mate, why not better his career? d**k Johnson raced Nascar, bet you didn't f**k know that did you?
But if he was going to an F1 or Indy you'd cheer him!! f**k wanker!!!
All the best to Marcos and i hope he does well, he's done Ford very proud in motorsport and i am sure he'll continue for many years to come.
