now that would be nice.

Annoying how they ramped the Au III up to 250KW, then turn around and give us a G220 which is heavier, has a much better chasis, looks superior, and only gives it an engine producing 220KW...

The 250kw was a TL50 Tickford, not a stocker BA 220kw, AuIII Fairlane stocker was 175kw.

Yeah I know. At least you could buy a Fairlane with 250KW before BA came along. I'm surprised that FPR haven't done something to help lift interest in the BA Fairlane, like Tickford had to so with the AU variant.

Ford have just realeased the new range of Fairlanes with a 2 tone paint option. New rims. And get this. The range including LTD come standard with sports suspension only. The West Australian has tested it and complained of road noise, and having to talk louder when driving in one. Very strange for a 'prestige' LWB that is supposed to be luxurious and quiet. I mean, I at least would have made the LTD the plusher and quieter of the range, with no expenses spared on it. :?

Yeah it's an absolute joke that the fairlane comes with the 220 and not the boss 260 when you consider the statesman has the 250 gen 3. Its not brain surgery to figure out why the holdens killing ford in the lwb department.

It's not just mechanicals though, my mate looked at a G 220 when they hit the dealers, then looked at the Statesman, he said value for money you can't go passed the Statesman.
Just to add, he bought the Statesman lol.

I have to agree with Paul, it would be the value not the 250KW, in daily city/town driving I am willing to bet a G220 would s**t on a Statesman, remember the Gen III is missing low down torque.

Considering a lot of magazines often stated the Falcon AU I6 was quicker around town than the Gen III

Going back to the TL 50 I am lead to believe that out of the T3 tickfords there was only one TL 50 sold and that belongs to Craig Lownde's. I can't remember if they had a series 1 and 2 TL50.

There was three, one of which belonged to Craig Lowndes. I saw one of them on my way back from Sydney, had a good chat to the dude about it, I dont think he knew what he had (being asian and having the back seat full of kids, ugghhhh). It was a TL50 with the T3 rims, so I'm assuming it was the real deal but could have been a T1 or T2
