I was just looking at the list of cars that finish and didn't and thought there was something very strange! Did some counting and it kinda showed Holdens problem with quality...

18 Holden start - 10 Did Not Finish, 8 Finished (sadly 2 of those 8 came on top :()
Only 16 Fords start - 3 DNF (1 which we know was taken out by a certain driver on the other side), while 13 finish...

On another note who got the fastest time for the weekend? Did anyone beat Lowndes? A mate told me Skaife got 10grand for beating the previous record, but he wasn't sure if that only counted in the race or was anytime (qualifiying aswell).

Also, what's the ratio of wins Holden to Ford? I know Holdens infront, but what are the exact numbers?

Yeah, me and mates were counting the Ford vs. Holden DNF rate, and were proud.

Round wins it's 5 a piece. Dunno about race wins.

What's wrong with the super tourers? They are more like the old group A's then the current V8 supercars.

Even though gmh is got the most wins at bathurst it is only one race.

Ford have more championship wins which is harder to do than one single race that involves lots of luck and the deciding factor the balacrava.
Not to mention how many times the front running Fords have been taken out at bathurst.

Yeh Fords are better quality thus better start finish records.

I know of one year that brock had cheated, 1972 winning xu1 was using a alloy block(this would have made a big difference as it was a wet race not to mention the block was stronger and didn't have the breaking problem the factory cast iron one had).
Also the xu1 was known for soft camshaft material which was common with lobes being chewed(bet he didn't run the factory camshaft either)
How many other years did he account for that he ran a illegal part.
Without the brock records it would be pretty close for the wins at bathurst.

Plus look at how many times ford have been handicapped by either having to run more weight, gmh using performance enhancing parts Ford wearn't allowed, the gurners lip ford designed(ford ran it and cams/avesco made them remove it only to allow the gmh cars to use shortly after because the falcon was giving the commonhore a good beating) smaller brakes (Late E series), less down force body kit(AU 16kg front opposed to com 60kg front).

Has anyone got a list of:-

What front running Fords have been taken out at bathurst with current position when occurred?

What Fords have been excluded from results?

What mechanical failures that have cost Ford victory?

Everytime a ford dominates it is penalized with mechical or aero-dynamics.
And can't forget not wearing a balacrava.

Can anyone remember that supercharged Mustang (GTP?)Bowe was racing.
It copped weight penalities, was made to raise susspension 40mm, I think it copped 4 seperate penalities to slow it down as the promotors had problems slowing it down.
In the end I think Bowe gave up on it as the promotors where out to stop it from winning.
I remember watching it in one race where it made a monaro look stupid as it passed it through a S bend.

I think I will have to buy a gmh car as they are so good just look at their record.cough cough cough cough

this is a little stupid u can really compare todays races to that of a few years back, the engines the cars run these days arnt factory engines lol, the quality of the engines more relies on the engineer that built them, the bigger budget teams normally come out on top
