another way of getting around it is if your parents buy a v8 or turbo whatever nd then you can prove you have no money to buy your own car nd the you can get them to ransferr the car into your name nd wala your now driving a v8 legaly

I love the fact that lotus elise and exige are not on the prohibited list for NSW P platers!!
I spose if Daddy can afford it you can drive it. I would love to see the debate with the cops about it though. Its not a high power car, just a very healthy power to weight ratio. its only a celica motor or rover motor depending on the age.

there are still some quick cars to buy on yours p's
u can get a v35 or v36 skyline which has the same motor as the 350/370 which are banned.. s2000 but like every p plater it sure would be sweet to be driving around in a typhoon..and why is it i always see p plates on turbo's/eights..i think the parents transferring the car over would be the best option.. |

If there is a second car in the household that just happens to be P plater approved, then by law you are only allowed to drive that. P platers and prohibited vehicles are like under aged kids getting into licensed premises with no ID or a fake ID. Purely for bragging rights and not much else. |

why is it so hard to put up and shut up for 4 years?
i do, ffs, the speed limit is MAX 130 at the fastest road in Australia and my dad's Landcruiser will do that. might take a year or 2 to get there but it will do it. if you wanna drive turbo cars when you're not supposed to, you're an idiot. hurry up and lose your licence so we don't have to worry about your stupidity |

I'm going to have to get an exemption for her, but I don't have another car for her to drive!

I thought all the states were moving to the same laws when it comes to P plate restrictions?
If i had a son or daughter on their P's right now, i'd be a little screwed, as every car i own is on the restricted list for one reason or another. IE, V8, turbo, or performance mods like an engineered engine swap. I think the only loophole in the law for P platers should be once a defensive driver & advanced driver courses are done & passed with a 95% pass mark, then they can be allowed to drive otherwise restricted vehicles. I'd hate to be a p plater these days. Sure there were restrictions when i had mine, but it was Kw/tonne, so small car's that have huge power to weight were off limits, as well as car's with too much KW/tonne of power. Cheers ToranaGuy

I've got to admit thinking about say my fairlane hair under 2 tonne 332 big block and 2 spd auto, power??? maybe? but fast, good luck.
I was told the 1st is good for 50-60mph seconds good 70mph My 5 spd ef is most likely to risk getting me in a lot more trouble, but which one can I legally drive.
