i never understood why they didn't upgrade the headlights - all the newer commodore lights and bonnets would have bolted straight on???

but with holden pulling the pin on the monaro there is no chance now of ford relasing a falcon based 2 door coupe, bit of a bummer really.

But if you're quick you can get one of the last 1,200 CV8-Z. They come with (over a regular CV8).

- New Paint Colour
- New Wheels

*yay*

so glad we brought this up again...

personally i thought the first revision of the monaro looked cool, but the second with the nostrils was homosexual! all up i thought it was a very disapointing car - not just as a biased Ford view, I just don't think it was more than a V8 commodore coupe, shouldn't of been called Monaro, or should of been a bit more special.

Meh, it was never really a Monaro anyway... Was just a coupe commodore.... I remamber first seeing it loaded onto a plane, waaaay before they even thought about calling it a monaro.... in fact they were saying a commodore coupe was coming... It's a s**t anyway... I like it, but c'mon, it's just a few hundred kilos too heavy.

remember, even the old school monaro's are really just a 2 door version of the garden variety holden sedan

i agree with the above post. werent the original monaros based closely to the kingswoods of the era? The monaro with its lower roofline, coupe body, 4 seats and wider stance? is differnt enough to call it a monaro but i dont think it is really a true sports car, its just too heavy.
