Is there any other Aussie companies doing GGT40 replicas besides DBR Sportscars?
I so want one, but can'tt say I like the idea of owning a Ford (even if it is a replica) when most of the mechanicals are other manufactturers brands (e.g. Posche driveline, Corvette suspension, etc.).

DBR or DRB or what ever it is will sell you a full built one for $104.000 - I'm pretty sure you can get an injected V8 in them now too...

Couldn't agree more. But it was still interesting to read that they'd do it for 105....
I want to build one using Ford parts though, none of the Posche and whateveer else, might not be as good, but at least it'd be Ford.
DBR reckon you need to budget around $65,000 for parts and should be able to build the vehicle in 60 hours or something like that. Pitty at my current rate it'lll take me 6 years to save that much if I savee every cent I earn! :(

Yeah but after you build it and drive it, "COULD YOU SELL IT!!!!"

I've been looking into the AC Cobra replica for a longer term project and use a wrecked BA as the donor car to keep it all ford.
Then it's just a question of using a 5.4 BOSS or keep it classic with a 427.. :?:
Hmmmmmmm Cubic Inches...

The Porshe part is probably the Transaxle, the only transaxles that Ford make would either be from the new GT40 or maybe something off a Jag (XJ220 - bloody rare). Eother way they are Guaranteed to be more expensive than the Porshe Items.

As for the Brakes they are probably just proprietry brakes that Chev happen to use as well. Theyt may also fit onto the Transaxle a bit more easily.

There's no new GT40's but. Ford GT's are about the closest thing and based on the old GT40's, but there bigger than 40" and some other company that make replica GT40's have copy righted the GT40 name badge it seems so Ford couldn't use it without paying them comision...
