It says unable to get the VIN off it.
It also states it's been stolen and recovered.
I wonder if just the VIN Plate was removed or if they ground off the stamps on the chassis?
Do they have the VIN stamped onto the chassis? In 2 or 3 spots I thought?

I am sure that it is stamped on the passanger side well arch in the engine bay and on the compliance plate.

i thought when they had VP stamped near the ID number/plates it meant it was used for a Vic Police as a cop car?

No, VP was just if the Victorian Police used their own stamp to generate an engine number etc.
VR was a VicRoads generated engine number etc.

So checking this XE's rego via VicRoads, it shows it has not been written off, not been stolen and has no encumberance owing on it.
