He was very lucky, you only need to remember how the other drivers immediately stopped to help, you don't often see that.

Yep that is the one.
Although there have been far worse since.
Like the Morris and Larkham crash when it ruptured the fuel cell and burst into flames.

I've got that one and a compilation that someone put together of some of the most spectacular crashes in the V8s. Strangley Lowndes' big one is missing :?

murphy-bargwana is another big one. whole diff got torn aout of bargs car. nearly biffo in pit lane after as well.

that event at calder in 99 was a classic. after lowndes rolled they red flagged it and then on the restart it nearly happened again. i think it was the two djr shell cars came together (radisich and junior). real fast learners some of those guys.

Look 4 a DVD called Greatest Hits Volume One... Its got it and alot others... from 2 litre days to a few yrs back.... not a bad dvd but they show the crashes about 10 times and gets ova the top but good crashes... 1 more bad thing Greg Rust is presenting it :(
