All I can say is thank god they did not try and rebirth the Taurus. now that was a child whose mother should have been smacked at birth. they did, its out early next year in america. http://www.leftlanenews.com/2008-ford-taurus.html dosnt look too bad but....... dont think it will sell much if they bring it here (too american) That looks very similar to the fusion they already have over there. |

That would be backward considering the MPS is 2.3L has 190KW @ 5,500rpm and 380nm @ 3,000rpm while the XR5T has 166kW at 6000rpm and 320Nm of torque at 1600 to 4000rpm. I have driven one of the Mazda road show Mazda 6 MPS to 235km in a short distance, and this one wasn't running right (slowly driven others since), it also pulled up in a short distance (I bet I could have done more and pulled up in at the same place if I knew the car). Three of us out of the workshop got the green light to drive the MPS and MX5 at lunch time, hmm even the other mechanics on the test drive blew me up for flogging the MPS as hard as I did, I couldn't help it, I figured I wasn't the first to flog it and I wouldn't be the last, plus I wouldn't have a customer coming in saying they spotted someone flogging their car, as it was Mazda's own road test cars, I am normally slower driving customers cars than the other two mechanics. BTW the MX5 was s**t, at about 150kmh it felt floaty with the roof down, when I got to 175kmh (which took to long) it was terrible, I didn't have time to work out how to put the roof up to see if it improved, I wouldn't own one, but I include RX8 in that list too, I would take a Mazda 6 MPS any day. This was illegal I know, but this was done on a smooth open straight country back road, please don't be as stupid as I was and respect the road rules.

Nah the XR5 is a Volvo 5 cylinder engine, it is the Vanilla cars that have similar engines. The RX8 is very different engine wise to drive (I don't like them at high speed), and power is OK but the MPS Mazda 6 handles, easier (comfortable) to drive at high speeds and is actually comfortable, unlike the RX8's which I have driven more of them than MPS. Plus the fact most of the RX8's here are actually owned by certified poofs and a mother that got one on salary sacrifice cause it looked good. She is a fool, as the RX8 has to be flogged or problems occur, even if TCM is updated, new TSB recommended plugs and starter motor is fitted, at least one of the fags knows he has to flog his RX8.

Damage your the reason why my whole body quakes when I have to hand over my car to a mechanic. Just like the d***head at South City Holden In South Melbourne.
I went with 1 guy once on a test drive from there in 2000. Anyway it was an LS1 manual VX or something, and he friggin abused the hell out of this thing. He Revved it off the limiter and slammed it through the gears, chripping the wheels as he did it in 2nd, 3rd etc. Gave it hell. My kneck hurt for a day. And this is a customers car! BTW, my friend has an RX8 non turbo model, 2005 or 2006 I think. Has this had a few issues, what is the TSB like on that car. Maybe I can give him a headsup on some of them? Thanks. |

If you read the lower bit of my post I normally never flogged a customers car (Well I didn't abuse), the car I was speaking about is a Mazda Road show vehicle.
But yes I have to agree about mechanics flogging cars, one of the mechanics was the pot calling the kettle black, he might not have flogged the roadshow car to much but for some reason he has taken out a few customers RX8's to 230kmh and doesn't consider that as flogging, and those cars are scary to me at much lower speeds, all over the road while in a straight line.

Hey Kit, you don't happen to know the name of the guy who drove it like that. Cause i know a fair few blokes who work there. It was more than likely one of them!
Half the time they do it, cause they hate Holdens, but they're revheads like a lot of people. Although i don't like hearing of these stories at dealerships, one reason i never go to them! |

He was a mate of mine and he still might be working there. Wouldn't want to get him into trouble. He's a Ford fan like I am! I wonder if Mario the workshop manager still works there? |

Hahaha, yeah thats it.
I know a few boys from a couple of Holden dealerships, and not one of them likes Holdens, but they always have a few stories of things that happen at work... |

Hey did you know a top bloke that drove a red EB Fairmont. Big Al they called him. Alan's EB was an absolute screamer, free revving and drove like a tram on rails, great cornering speed. He showed me why it was so much better than the VX at the time. Great car!
