DEAWOO? Nah - More HYUNDAI... Although I stick by my comments... In the evolution of car fronts, this one has been a MONDEO - strewtcheeed to fit Falcon width and then given a deeper front to squish it up to SUV height.

Like it?

Well - I find it all a bit too similar.

I agree, and after looking at it sober, its grown on me


for me the front is too rounded it really needs to be more square rather than slanting back as it does now

Ahah - But they have to get it to line up with the wheel arches somehow... A agree though. The whole "bent front end" thing isn't very manly! Remember the old Land Rover front ends? THEY were manly!

Personally I think it looks like an abortion of a hatchback piece of s**t for making parking difficult.
Want to go 4wd, genuinely have a use for a 4wd then buy a 4wd, don't buy these pug nose awd oversized hatchbacks.

i agree very strongly with this statement. I would even go so far as to say that all 4x4's should be cloth seats, vinyl floors and no accesories.

The only creature comforts a real 4x4 should have is aircon and power steering. Problem is that all these new 4x4's are just as if not more comfortable than what other normal cars offer.

Shh!!! heard on the QT the other night that Ford/FPV may not even produce a turbo'd V6 in 2011,
I have heard that R&D on the 2011 V6 is well and truely underway for the Aust market,
but at this stage, no V6 Turbo is currantly being look at due to the economic conditions.
The rumour is that Ford wants to cut it's Aust made Falcon/G range, due to too many models being on offer.
Now if this is true, well I'll let you make your own mind up about it.

Someone tell me that isn't a photoshopped Holden CG Captiva...or if it isn't, someone from Ford has been sleeping with the enemy. Maybe not so much the front-end, but there are a hell of a lot of styling cues taken front the Captiva. For instance, the raised bonnet line, roof rack design, rear quarter window, the crease in the doors just under the windows, mirrors attached to the outer door panel, even the panel joins where the front fender meets with the 'a' pillar...

I will be hanging onto my 05 BA mk2 xr6t Fully optioned with 30,000kms ti ll one of two things happens, I die or someone offers me $100 000 for it, not likely.
These cars are a rare beauty/power combo that people will talk about 30 years from now and seek out.

MATE. If I had a BA mk2 xr6t I'd be keeping it too. I would, in fact, buy another two for spares just in case. If I wasn't rich when I bought three BA mk2 xr6t 's, I would be in 30 years. Couldn't agree more.

By the way - This probably isn't the place for it, being Ford MODS and all - but keep one of them bog standard and the resale value will be oh so high.

Will the BA mk2 xr6t run on whatever Peanut Oil and Snail Spit petrol we'll be using in thrity years?


ALSO --- I actually think Ford lost the plot (or GM with ASTRA and HOLDEN COMMODORES, whichever came first.....)..... They lost the plot with the F's actually... Like... I was thanking god Ford hadn't made the front end of their cars look like Holden Commodore (Astras) and then all of a sudden we have Falcon Mondeos.

Someone show a comparision between all the SUV type over sized hatchbacks. Whilst you're at it - have a look at all the front ends on the Mondeo, Astra, Commodore, Falcon... The bottom grill / air dam bits and fog lamps inserts.... AAAARRRRGGGGGGG. When will it end?


Oh - Think I've answered that.

It'll end when the FALCON is a rebadged Mazda 6.

Guys there maybe only one way around this. Keep what you have (or at least nothing later than the mk1 FG) and just keep it on the road. Don't buy anything new from anyone just show the turds your not going to accept rubbish because they offer it to you. There is more to it than just the sum of the parts. Sure there will be some high tech stuff go into future Fords but if there are not Australian designed, developed and built then they are not an Aussie car. I don't mean the complete car either because we have been using overseas gear boxes for a while but you add an engine to that then how local is it.

I have always wanted to buy a new Falcon and was looking forword to retirement 10 or more years down the road when I would do so. But now I know Ford is going to replace the Aussie Six-and remember if its not a straight six, it's not an aussie six-with some forgien made, south of the border V Six then I'm not getting one.

I have a good XC Falcon 500 that I intend to keep. I was going to keep it stock but maybe I should update it with an injected OHC 4 litre.

I've had my rant. Thanks guys.
