glad I got my V8 :)
Everything ford did was a resounding FAIL from AU series onwards if you ask me so it was just a matter of time I guess. Oh well...

I thought you meant sales LOL
I was gonna say ED-EF-EL were failures too!
VR-VS-VT stomped them sales wise.

but the ED etc were profitable cars for ford, thats what matters not outright sales numbers....

ford and holden lost money last year....toyota was the only company in aust to actually make a profit...

ford and GM are totally stuffed...GM lost 30+ billion in last quater...the US gov will probably have to bail them out on top of the 700+ billion it has just spent bailing the banks out...

its a sign of the economic times to come

If Falcons drop out of the market, what affordable RWD cars will we have to choose from? I would probably end up buying a holden just to support the Australian motor industry.

Interesting isnt it : At this time, I beleive the falcon is the only decent RWD platform ford has world wide - rumour used to be that the next falcon platform was to be a world car.

Shame if they kill the territory though - a great car in the space.

I suppose it is inevitable... still sucks though.

Time to buy a FG F6 me thinks, will be a classic in a few years time.

Indeed it will be...if in 5 years time it gets closer to the end of the Falcon...I shall buy all the spare parts I can get lol.

Ah wells...big cars were going to lose to smaller cars in the long term. Hopefully chucking the V6 engine in will better the fuel economy and reduce emissions so that the Falcon platform can be sold overseas, since most countries have higher emission standards then Australia.

phong =P~

pretty sure you are wrong. holden never hit the front in the sales race until vt. before that it was all ford for a long time.

the funny thing about that article also is it seems to infer that hoden and toyota are fine as they export cars. GM are that close to bankruptcy its not funny.

The falcon range is the most versatile range of vehicles in Australia. You want a good ride? You got it. Want to tow something? You also got it.

If they want us all to get around in smaller FWD's then they also expect us to by their expensive dedicated caravan and trailer towers (read up market 4WD's).
