FOrd have updated the BF, (presumably to series II) to counter the new VE COmmodore. Appears to be mainly styling updates for now, along with computer tweaks, and aerodynamic changes.

The 6 speed tranny is now available as an option for the XT and Futura, and DSC is now available as an option for the XT, Futura, Fairmont and XR6.

EA - ED shape ran from 88 to 94 - so 6 years.
EF - EL ran 94 to 98 - so 4 years.
AU 98 to 2003 - 5 years.
If BA/BF is run from 2003 to 2008 (when the Orion is supposebly released) it's 5 years, not unreasonable at all.

*the above dates are just from memory.

if VE has used the same V6 as the VZ, and I think they have, then although ford may be lower on power (although debatable as Holden have two V6 options 175 and 190, so does ford, two I6 options, the NA 6 which is comparable to Holdens 175 as the base/bottom range engine, and the turbo 6, with is more powerful than the Holden 190 engine - so in reality can say Ford is still putting out more power and torque), they are still up on the torque. As well as BF Mark ii supposebly being more fuel efficent than the new VE too!

I have to admit it does look good!
But i am also over the BA shape, there are so many on the road now they are starting to look boring... It's rare you see anything special, it's all run of the mill.
I do love the yellow Typhoon though, it's about the only one that turns my head now.

I saw a white typhoon with twin tips, a bigger cooler riding low as on 19s. Damn, it looked awesome. Love the typhoon, but over the rest of it.

what about the v8's? vz hsv's are 297kw gt 290(plus the gt is heaver). ss now 270kw xr8 still 260(weighs more aswell). ford sixes are well ahead of holdes because of the turbo and all, but seriously need to do somthin about the v8s. apparently the ss can do 0-100km/h in the 5 second bracket making it faster then all v8 fords. thank god for the typhoon
