I wonder if their helmets have any restrain on them. hooked up to the seat minimising movement during any abrupt stop. seeing that car slammed into the wall sideways gave me the shivers.

condolences to his love one's & friends!

Unfortunately no matter how hard the guys are strapped into these things, there's nothing you can do to prevent the brain and organs carrying momentum and damaging themselves on the inside of someone's body.

RIP cooper

Got to the track just after this happened, saw the replay and cringed... saw the red flag and thought the worst.

how can people say the crash didnt look like much?? 200 odd kmph sideways into a 3 odd ton block of concrete is gona do serious damage no matter who you are. the car was sideways but had almost a square impact, side of the car hit flat against the wall instead of hitting it on a angle and following the wall along to absorb some of the impact. as soon as he hit the wall i thaught he might be in trouble, worst crash ive seen on turn 8 yet after 6 years of going to the clipsal 500. my thaughts go out to his family and those who helped him at the track as i know for a fact some of the rescue crew were very shaken and not doing real well after the accident. RIP ashley cooper.

Good on him and his family for respecting his wishes. Everyone should be donors. No point taking them with ya  I am and I have made sure that my family knows that anything that's any good can go to someone else who needs it more than i do.

Such a shame to hear that he died. 6 people have received organ transplants from him.

I don't think that people should have to register to donate organs, and that people should have to register (and suppply good reason) not to donate.
