I have no clue. I see a lot of American movies and they mostly drive Fords in them but which one is the equivalent to the Aussie Falcon?

Do they have I6 and V8 options?

Cheers

I think americans are to crazed on big pick ups to bother with our relativly small falcons and commos.

yeah the crown victoria would have to be the equivalent, but as was said, most drive GMC 4WD's or f-trucks/explorers

Yeah Crown Vic's. They do have a 4.6L V8 option but they are still a bloody slug to drive.and sort of look like a Toyota Camry on steroids. Our Aussie Falcons looks and goes heaps better.

Farque !!!!!!
Look at these specs

Last year's old-tech recirculating ball steering setup has been excised.

Ford updated the Crown Victoria's short- and long-arm independent front suspension for 2003

solid rear axle

It continues to sell today because Chrysler and General Motors abandoned the rear-drive, V8 marketplace in the 1990s, leaving Ford to fill the orders for thousands of police cars and taxicabs

Farque ! Compare those specs to a BA, hell even an EA !!!
Makes you wonder what the yanks thought of the dozen BAs that were shipped over there for testing !

I think the US equivilant would be the Mustang? They are just an average car over there.

I read in the paper a few months back that they were going to release the Mazda6 as a Falcon in the US. Mazda is partially owned by Ford.

well coming from canada its kinda hard to say, currently the chevy impala's are used for taxi's and that but mainly since they're economical and seat 5. I'd say a mustang would come pretty close, considering its in the same price range as the falcon technically(40 aussie for a new V8 GT mustang) Crown victorias were popular as well as the Caprice(not the convertible, 5 seater sedan) for public service(police, taxi, etc...)

The yanks invented the Falcon, the ozzies improved it, the south Americians still make a mess of it, and the yanks are now buying our muscle Falcons - shock horror

The Taurus looks very ugly - not even a worthy Falcon replacement, I guess the have the Crown Victoria

oh well
