whoever is premier when we adopt it will be getting a shovel through their f**king skull...you want daylight savings, go live in NSW (no offense, after living there for 5 years i feel quite passionate about keeping my mornings 8-) )...Personally I like the "sunshine" state (not this smart s**t) and being able to surf before work in the morning, get up in sunlight for work in the morning and not having it 34 degrees at 8pm when the sun is setting

touché, That is the point a lot of southerners don't get.
Its still daylight when its 730 here with normal time. There is no way that I want to have to go to bed at 9pm etc when the sun is still up/just setting and its still fuggin hot.

just wondering why you all feel so strongly about it?
if people dont like it, what is the need to try and force it on them?

and i'm not looking for a "it just good and everyone who doesn't like it is stupid" answer.

i'm looking for a real thought out answer.

There was debate in one of the state parliaments that daylight saving is a good move for family cohesiveness. I.e people are frequently working longer hours at work and may not get home untill 6-6 30 pm. The extra hour and a bit of sunlight can allow families to go out and spend time together. There was also argument that it would lead to less dependence on electronic entertainment and provide an incentive to go outside and be active.

I just like the extra light at the end of the day.
Working 6 to 6, I'm getting up when its pretty much dark daylight savings or not, but at the end of the day I've got a bit of light, so I can get s**t done.
I dunno what more reasoning you need other then "its good"?
If you don't like it, don't change your clock, and just get into work an hour early LOL

why try and force the fact that you think its s**t on to us then? your doing the same thing you think we shouldnt do.

anyway as said i also like the extra dayling at the end of the day.

and given the chance i would move to nsw, there is more to moving though then daylight savings

i can't see anywhere in that post, anything, saying it's s**t or me trying to force the it's s**t view on anyone...

I didn't try and shoot down the other two replies. because at least they had some thought put in to the answer

i personly don't dislike the idea, it's just a bad time of year to do it.
In townsville it's just to damn hot at that time of the day. Most of us are inside airconditioned houses trying to get away from it.
give us the extra hour at a time of year when it's pleasent to be outside and i'd vote for it.
