Five days ahead of its official unveiling at the International Motor Show in Sydney, Ford will give spectators and television viewers of the Bathurst Super Cheap Auto 1000 a special preview of the all-new BF Falcon.

Ford Racing legend d**k Johnson will drive two laps of the Mount Panorama circuit from 9.10am on race morning (9 October) in a Ford Falcon BF XR8.

The Ford Falcon BF XR8 will only be at the track for these two laps, before heading straight off for preparations at the International Motor Show.

"The opportunity to give not just the fans at the track, but the massive television audience the chance to get a special preview of the Ford Falcon BF was too good to pass up," said Ford President Tom Gorman.

"Traditionally car makers have waited until the International Motor Show to unveil their cars to the public. We are not taking anything away from that event; this will be very much a special preview before the Motor Show.

"For people wanting to get a good look at the BF Falcon they'll get the very best opportunity at the International Motor Show from Friday 14 October.

"Having d**k drive the car is clearly the right choice, especially as this year marks the 25th anniversary since the famous 'rock' incident at Bathurst.

"Bathurst is very important to us all at Ford and it would be great to start and finish the day at Bathurst on the right note!"

During the two laps of Mount Panorama Tom Gorman will be interviewed by Network Ten as part of the special preview of the BF Falcon.

its cool. i saw a bf turbo on the road the other day. didnt notice that it was a bf until i saw the wheels, then the front. i dont think its different enuf from the ba's. i can appriciate all the great under body improvments, and the ba is still a great looking car imo, but i dont think its going to do much for those that want to be seen in "the" latest thing. so dont think its going to ignite sales, especially with the new 380 hitting the road and new commodore and camry around the corner.

But that is a normal pattern for car model releases. They keep the same shape for a few models then they spend more time and money on the next big model revamp. You notice these changes on previous Fords; XA - XC, XD - XF, EA - ED, EF - EL and now the BA - BF range.

Glad you forget the AU.

Mwaaa ha ha ha...
I'd hate to own an AU.
Both for the fact that they cop so much s**t, and cause it would just suck :P :D

I've seen a couple of BF's briefly.
I like the subtle changes, but I'd love a drive of a 6 speed auto XR6 Turbo more.
Would be an absolute weapon.

true. but even ef - el there was the change to the grill, and the xr's had a new front on them. on the bf's it just seems to be the wheels that have changed apart from the very minor difference around the fog lights i saw ont he bf.
