Well your not on for three days and look what happends.
While i can appreciate all the hard work which has gone into it, and it looks like there has been allot. Its too dam bright (yeah adjust your screen FLASH) it needs colour or something, its just too plain. And yeah bring back the fords that used to cycle through in the left corner. It just feels like there is nothing going on anymore. Call me scared of change, but i want the old fordmods back.

So Brad.... this is what you've been doing in between your circuits at Bankstown? I'm surprised you found the time to get through all this change!
Personally, I am still getting used to the new style, but I like it. New things take time to learn, but I'm sure once I do, I'll wonder why anyone ever complained! well done mate |

Wide screen looks better i like in on wide screen. Cant we have the option of wide screen, and the way it is set up now?
Quick reply was quicker i think, but maybe like waggin is sayine nmight not be, i think it was easier with the quickreply and we want it back, most people anyway. There is TOO MUCH WHITE MAN, it feels like someone is pointing a torch in your face everytime you get on the forum.. we need a few more colours at least to brea up the white..

I know that i spent most of my time on here rather than the other ford & boosted forums as i liked the layout of this forum better. Now it just looks and works like everything else, when it used to be some what unique. There is definitely some good new features, but there are some old ones that need to come back.

Ummmm, waggin...
I see you have applied the CSS tag "overflow: hidden" to the thread display. Was this to handle images that push the right side out? It seems to have added another problem (see attached). Words that follow the images are now cut off....

To take a completely different direction...
I think the for sale section needs defining. I like what FF has. Cars for sale, parts for sale, non car related s**t. JMHO.

URL with screenshot please You're 100% correct. When the images are wider then that default width they, along with the text, are truncated. "Normal" posts are unaffected. However, the borders of the overflowing posts are missing (truncated by the CSS tag) and the inner colour continues unabated to the right. If you look at my thread in the garage (the last 2 or 3 pages) you will see the effect. I have my images set to 800x600 which I realise now that they do not fit into the constraints of the post area. I am sure (in the back of my hazy old mind) that there is a CSS tag that can limit the size of the IMG tag, automatically reducing the size of images. If it does actually exist that would cure the problem of people using oversized images in posts plus retain the overall look of the posts without using the overflow tag. I don't have my CSS reference handy right now but will look it up... Cheers RD Cheers RD

What you're seeing is by design, I can't figure out any better way to deal with it at the moment. In the old version of Fordmods, stupidly large images would force users to scroll horizontally - so I'm glad those days are over. You most certainly can alter the height of the image tags, but to do this dynamically I need to know the size of the image first - which is a big task for externally linked images. I would need to spot an IMG tag, download the image, a*** it through GD2 to get its dimensions, and then apply height and width restrictions on the IMG tag to ensure that it's an acceptable size and that it remains in the correct aspect ratio. If it wasnt done this way, then a set size would need to be elected for alll images, seeing some made bigger, smaller and also losing aspect ratio. For now, people should re-size their images. Just for reference, what image size worked for you?
