I think the for sale section needs defining.

I like what FF has. Cars for sale, parts for sale, non car related s**t.

JMHO.

There are things in the pipeline for the for sale and wanted sections. It wont be like what FF has (i dont think - i dont even know what they have. lol).

Just for reference, what image size worked for you?

Ok, no probs on the image stuff, I knew there is alot of things you could do with images, must have been something else I was thinking of re sizing them.

Not sure what size "works" just yet, I am about to post with images set at 720 to see what happens. What is the available area within the post block for everything (minus margins)?

Cheers
RD

Is there any reason you dont upload an attachment on Fordmods? It would certainly overcome the image sizing problems...

Because you can't put them inline with the text... I think :)

Another horrible side affect from fixing the sites width. I mean come on, 800wide is a pretty darn standard picture size, and we can't use it. I've standardised on it as have many. And you can't expect everyone to make use of the attachment feature, as I've got an extensive gallery already built up on photobucket that's used across all forums I frequent. I wouldn't be happy to upload all said pics again to FM. Plus it's extra bandwidth FM has to pay for, surely you'd be somewhat happier to have externally posted pics?

FM3 is looking more and more a dud.

I'm all for change where improvement is to be had, but so far we've got a somewhat snappier site (yay there), but at a significant cost to usability.

I hate being negative, but that's how I'm seeing it.

One bonus is I can fit four FM windows across my screen.

Yes, you can now.

No, we have more control over uploaded pics. They dont go missing, and they're all thumbnailed with an option to click through to the full size so there is never any concerns about the size of your photo.

Even if we extended to full screen, what may fit on your screen as a 1024x768 image, may cause many other people to scroll affecting any chance of us using absolute positioned div's and ultimately most of the upcoming applications for Fordmods.

It's also worth noting that only 2.1% of posts contain a linked image and only 3.4% of users have ever used an external linked image. Surely people can use the upload feature, especially now that inline image placement is supported!

Now, I am going to get into trouble again, but I am not going to read this whole thread and am simply going to ask for the ability to either have a signature, or not have a signature, returned.

On my own thread, or threads where I have posted recently, I see no need for my signature to be repeated all bloody day, but I didn't want to delete my signature entirely.

ON the point regarding large images.... I have one screen set at around 1800 pixels wide, and the other screen at a more modest 1200. Having the two screens is a good thing for reasons that go beyond simply "looking cool for the mates kids".

I used to like FordMods as it filled the whole screen width and therefore I didn't have to scroll up and down so much. By limiting the table width to a low rez, you may have helped out those old timers with 800x600 VGA screens, but for the rest of us you are now wasting almost half the screen.
