I spoke to Vic yesterday and he is sounding more like his old self, he is also starting to get around on crutches although he is still a little swollen in the ankle and knee. He thinks he may be released very soon to recover at home.
Get well soon Cuz, that 3 storey home should provide plenty of therepy. |

Howdy all.
Thanks to all the well wishers in this thread, much appreciated. I've been discharged from hospital and am now recovering further at home. The leg is still massively swollen from the soft tissue damage associated with the accident and the resulting surgery to fix the broken bones but the painkillers they gave me make the pain manageable. I have to spend quite a fair amount of time with the leg elevated to help reduce the swelling but that just gives me time to watch more TV and relax. In the meantime I'll see what the TAC can do for me, maybe all that money paid in rego will pay off in my favour now!

I just saw this mate. Sorry to hear about the accident. Good to see you are on the mend.
Was this on the same day as that test ride day at Hart? |

G'day Dan,
Yes, I was over at HART test riding their new bikes. It was a good day bar the accident. Still, I managed to try a few bikes out and I'm sure I'll be ona bike again when the leg is better. Right now, I'm concentrating on sorting my car out before I worry about getting back on my bike though.

Working in the hospital sector I have heard some horror TAC stories. Im pretty sure they do not pay out a cent until treatment is complete. If you ever need to pay for xrays, CTs, MRIs or anything else just let me know and I can get it done for free for you as long as you don't mind coming to the northern hospital. I would assume you have had a few CTs already and if they aren't covered then you can be up for like $400 a pop.

Hehe.. thanks guys.
Ray, I was a lucky fellow on that day. A fireman and a nurse were two people who were on the way to work when they came across the accident. I was well looked after till the ambo's arrived. The safety gear did their job well and I only have the broken leg to show for my impact. Does a steel rod in the leg make me bionic now??
