I say bring more manufactures in, WRX's and EVO's just make it power to weight or very close lap times. You would see the field change alot more and it would be alot more fun to watch.

id have to agree with BGS4MY i dont know much about the aussie racing era pre 90's but theres a reason its been holden and ford and i think it will always go back to that one day.this is probably just to get more people to watch the race.and in all hoesty both holden and ford in the v8 supers cars are the s**t any way just in a different shell so all you will see is a skyline shell everythimg else will be what they already have......

something like that any way, correct me if im wrong.

Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore are loosing there s**t and will go under very soon if they don't do something about it. This can only help...

will most likely be maxima body panels over the generic CotF chassis and roll cage. The rules require that the powerplant be a ohv pushrod v8 of 5ltrs atm. Chances are the kellys will just use the current 5ltr chev as they would be allowed to do under the rules, unless nissan will develop their own push rod v8 just for the race car.

this could help, but if it is not though out properly and is unfair then this could accelerate ford and holdens demise. imagine if nissan dominated V8 supercars that much that all the drivers start driving nissans just so they can be competitive. That would surely kill the falcon and commodore...

yeah true but i dont think it will end up looking like

Nissan
Nissan
Nissan
Nissan
Holden
Ford
Ford
Holden
etc.

It should bring some more interest back into the series, I think alot of people have forgot about the falcon and commodores

Just take a look out on the roads. There's 3 Japanese cars for every Holden or Ford. Theres no reason why our "Aussie V8" racing class shouldnt reflect the same.

V8 Supercars HAVE always been Holden and Ford

Australian Touring Cars were mixed ( the good days )

They slowly ruled out other cars till there was nothing left but a Commodore and a Falcon and then the name was changed to V8 supercars

Fair call, probably no Jap entries in the V8 supercars due to the lack of V8 Jap production cars?

Point is, this racing class is all about relating to the cars on the track. We watch them race, then we go and jump in our family car which represents the V8 supercar. Great!

But lets face it, the Falcon and Commodore are nearing the end of their life on the streets. The cars that are racing barely even represent what we drive (different engines and drivelines). I can only imagine they are preparing the sport for its next era.

imo the whole v8 stupid car championship should be scraped and it should return to the auatralian touring car championship like it use to be..
this will allow for a decent line up of production performance vehicles from all cars sold in australia.. :)
