Nick had another good day. All the little steps forward keep on coming.
They are starting to lower the sedation that he is on. A catch 22 (I feel) as it means he is getting better but it also means he can feel alot more- the tubes & potential discomfort- which means we should not stimulate him as he can now react. If all goes well, by the end of this week he could be off most sedation- maybe!

Finally some good news..... Nick is starting to breathe on his own. They still have him connected to the ventilator to feed him oxygen but Nick is actually sucking it in. He is still sedated as to make the tubes not so uncomfertable. We are starting to head down the road to a full recovery..... it will still be a little while away but as long as it comes I think we are all happy!

The colour in Nicks face has improved heaps. He is starting to look like Nick again.
At times they don't sedate him asmuch, so he can (very slightly) open his eyes and move..... however as he is still hooked up to machines so this can be uncomfertable for him, they don't do it too much.
As far as his condition goes, he is making progress. It's happening slowly, but any progress in positive.
We still ask that people do not visit or call and as soon as he is able to have visitors we shall let you know...... perhaps a big party when he is out of hospital.... we know how Nick loves his music!

Nick had a good day. They have dropped down the amount of medication and he seems to be doing well.
We are not out of the woods but going ok

I mentioned yesturday that they were trying to lower the sedation.... however today they have turned it up slightly. Although he had a bit of a temprature, it's not for medical reasons, but as Nick keeps trying to move and at the moment with both his health & tubes it's not the best idea.
Everything is still looking good!

did Nick have any underlying health issues before he got sick or was he just unlucky?

I think that young nicko that for him it was a random occurance (well that is what is looks to me)

just had a read about this & I was knocked over in how bad its hit you, mate hope you get over this asap & back to normal, all the best............
