Tuesday 4th August, 2009 @ 7.47pm-
It gives me great pleasure to announce that today Nick was taken off sedation!! He has had the tubes removed but needs a mask to aid breathing. We have all been waiting this kind of update for a while now and perhaps wish to rush in and see him, but it's not reccommended for a few days (at least). He needs some time to recover from all that he has been through, come to terms with being out of it for a few weeks and get over needing some help (we all know how Nick loves to help others but hates it when he needs it). I shall inform him of all your continued posts and will let you know when he may be up for visits. I had mentioned in an earlier post that we shall try and organize a party for him when he is all better.

Thursday 6th August, 2009 @ 1.52pm-
Nick is out of ICU!!!!! He is now in a ward that still has special attention but not near as much as ICU. For such an independent person, I can only imagine how he is feeling...having people tell him what to do and when to do it. He does get tired very quickly and zones out suddenly. His voice is a little strained and I think he finds it difficult to talk. Nick seems to remember somethings about the part 2 - 3 weeks but things are very hazy. He has been told about this group and the amount of members who are always checking in and sending their wishes.... It bought a smile to his face. I think it may take at least a few days before he makes another leap in the right direction and more 'awake' for visitors. I do really reccommend to call before going in or wait for further updates. It won't be long now!!!!

Friday 7th August, 2009 @ 8.23pm-
Today Nick took another step forward in becoming his normal happy self. He was starting to laugh and joke around. A great thing to see! If he keeps going like this he will be back very soon. I for one can't wait Nicholas has been moved to a Intensive Respiratory Centre with 1 nurses attending 2 people. Which is great. He was smiling ear to ear. So you can imagine there was few tears. He is very weak and was really confused today, (that explains the smile!!!) he needs to rest, which means people have to ring first and only stay about 10 mins please. He need to focus on recovering. He will be in hospital for a while longer so people will not miss out Getting there slowly! Awesome news!!
