1977 ZH Ford Fairlane 500
Engine: 302 Cleveland Gearbox: 3spd Auto (C4?) Diff: Borgwarner LSD (I think?) Engine rebuilt 4yrs ago by previous owner, Had gas cam installed, Engine was built for straight LPG. Was restored 8years ago, Finished in Royal Blue, Interior is excellent. In its hey-day it was a detectives car, I am the 3rd owner, Goes well and drives fantastic. It is also very cheap to run as its on a straight LPG setup. It has 12slotters all round but missing 2 centre caps, two new tyres, other tyres are in good condition, it has 9months rego on it and passed its road worthy. Recently I have replaced the front suspension bushes, spring saddles and gave it a wheel alignment. Only thing wrong with it is the air conditioning doesnt work, Might be something small? Not too sure. Car has always been serviced and well maintained as the old bloke I bought it from was planing to keep it all his life, but had to let it go. When ever rust popped up it was always cut out and plated up and fish oiled, boot still smells of fish oil for that matter of fact. lol. Anyhow my asking price is $1,800 how ever I am negotiable. Thanks. If you need to contact me post here, or PM me. Looks phat mate!
I'd like to buy it and drop a late model injected motor and gear box in it but I'm sure the missus would kill me having just spent a fortune on my EF! Have you got any interior pics ?

Well, there's good news and there's bad news. The good news is that it could be as simple as it needing a regas. If you can find someone with a supply of R12 then this shouldn't be too expensive but if you shell for the full R134a conversion then it can get fairly exxy. The bad news is that it could be the compressor. Unfortunately, these babies can cost a crapload. I was told $700 bucks for one for my old Corona (which was the catalyst for my saving up to get rid of it) but that was some Jap POS, Fords could well be cheaper.

Yeah, not too sure on what's wrong with it, I just wind down the window lol |
