OK MICKYYYY, i hope this makes sense.

pic 1, with the yellow lines.

to start the bulge is not flat on the underside. the yellow lines are ridges in the bulge and are the highest point so i measured to there.

pic 2, with the black lines.

pic 2.jpg
pic 2.jpg [ 58.78 KiB | Viewed 160 times ]

the black lines are the straight edge i put across the bulge and the arrows are where i measured.
front gains about 25mm
middle gains bout 35mm
back (closest to windscreen) gains about 40-45mm

i hope you can make sense out of all that mate

Thanks for that, cheers :D

I like that u still has the original factory metal frame work in place for strength.

This bonnet is a must for ppl who are doing a 351 windsor conversion to there E series or AU falcon

If you're worried about it, you could always make some metal bits that support the fibreglass between the hinges and put some chops in the underside supports of fibreglass so it "folds" upwards along that area in a head on crash. Wouldn't be that hard to do, but attaching the metal to the fibreglass should really be done as part of manufacturing process so that you're not ruining the nice clean surface by bolting through it etc etc. There are heaps of fibreglass bonnets in NZ.

Am interested to know what the laws are around it now - can someone please enlighten us?
