Really, when i spoke to adam he stated that he wouldnt be doin the high series bonnet, was concentrating on the XR and GLI market.
This changes things. If you can confirm then i will be in touch with him on monday to make my deposit.

Alrighty, srry for the delay in the details being chucked up. But here they are for the time being.

There will be a Gli/xr bonnet for the gli/xr members.

There shall be a gli/xr bonnet with a attachment for the fairmont members. with the fairmont grille.

So there will not be the high series bonnet being done, sorry for the confusion on this, that was my stuff up.

If there are any questions, please feel free to ask.

Cheers

BEN

So no bonnet with the raised line then the bulge, same as mine now?
I need a new one, but the low series will not have the clearance i need.
Cheers
Brett

What is meant by a GLI bonnet with a fairmont attachment? Be good to see a pic of this unit, lol.

brett, there will be a raised section where the buldge is. Seeing your how far your manifold sticks up, that should be enough, wouldnt it?

Not 100% sure on how the fairmont attachment will work on the gli bonnet. Still in designing stage. so no pics as yet.

His current set up would already have the fairmont raised part, then be raised further for the bulge. If he fitted a non-fairmont bonnet it doesn't have the first raise, and so he would loose that extra clearance. Last picture I saw of his manifold it stuck up bloody high.

Correct, which is why i need the high series bonnet. I am only replacing it cause i want a one peice bonnet so i dont have the visible "join mark" where the fibreglass meets the steel

This is from adam

Quote:
There will be no line at all where the extra extension is – it will continue and be smooth just as the Fairmont bonnet is now. This is the advantage of having the extension actually in the mould and not something that is added later.

Looks wise I will put it this way – it will look exactly the same as the Fairmont bonnet does now, will just not have the raised section through the middle, so the grille will need to be modified to allow for this. Otherwise the bonnet itself will all be smooth and flowing and there will be no sign whatsoever of anything being “tacked on” etc

brett, i will try and give you a phone call tonight, no promisis though, just about asleep now.

If anyone has any questions please call me on 0434029739 or reply on this thread.

Cheers

BEN

Hi im interested, i currently have a bulge moulded on my el xr and the only reason i want to change is because of the weight. But theres 2 things im concerned about. 1 the position of the bulge. When doing mine i thought it looked crap having it to high on the bonnet. I have a pic of it if you want to see it i can email it to you. 2 When this Adam guy was a awc he sold me a tickford rear skirt that didnt even come close to fitting and his responce to it was basically: he knew his mould was no good but it was my problem an no refund! ...can i trust him that is the question...

hi mate, if your interested and have any questions just forward them to
adam@kurnell kustoms, adam has been very helpfull with all my questions and quick to reply too. i can see what you mean about the buldge being to high on the bonnet and looking crappy, to high and it wouldnt blend in with the front of the car but as for no 2 i cant comment on that one, best bet is to shoot adam an email.
