If I had an opportunity to order these in at approximately $350 each, would anyone else be interested? Price depends on number of people that are interested.
Exactly the same as the one featured here for $599: {DESCRIPTION} You'd be picking them up from me at no extra cost.. or I could courier/post them to you wherever you want. |

Not to discourage your sale(s) but are these really any use in Australia ??
I dunno if it's more an interstate thing, but around Sydney I haven't seen a radar in use in years...

Always nice to know when theres a HWP car (marked, or unmarked) near by.

Escort bought Bel a while back.. the Bel XR and the Escort 8500 are the same.. just different housings, and the Bel has voice rather than beeps. |

These detectors detect multanovas as well as hand helds and the ones in cop cars. Anyways here's not the place for a discussion about whether they're worth it or anything.
No one's making anyone buy one. |

No one's making anyone buy one. Adam, go a Stealth Ninja or equivalent, the Escorts aren't supposed to be much use against Multanovas, ...the scourge of WA motorists! Check out this site: http://www.radars.com.au/radar-detectors.htm About 2/3 down the page, there used to be a video of an Escort 8500 x50 versus a Stealth Ninja in a real-life in-car Multanova detection situation (Speed camera on Marmion Ave). Anyway after a few passes with both detectors mounted on the windscreen, it was plainly obvious that the Stealth Ninja was MUCH better at giving an EARLY warning on Multanovas ...generally from 200m away, whilst the Escort struggled to give any warning at all, sometimes only when the car was practically alongside the camera! The Stealth Ninja was also very good at picking up Multanovas set up on the OTHER side of the road, whilst the Escort completely missed them! I was lucky enough to see this video, and I wasn't taking any chances, so I bought the Stealth Ninja ($995 at the time). I had been flashed 3 times in 2 weeks before I bought the Stealth Ninja, ...and I haven't been caught since! The Stealth Ninja has saved my a** on numerous occasions, with Multanova warnings from about 200m away, giving me plenty of time to slow down. Apparently the Escorts and Bel RX come into OZ from the US (where radar guns are predominantly used), and hence they are not tuned to pick up our Multanovas anywhere near as well as something like the OZ-designed Stealth Ninja. The Stealth Ninjas also incorporate software to 'cloak' themselves against most of the hand-held RDD's (Radar Detector Detectors) currently in use in OZ, so they are undetectable by all but the most high-tech RDD's. WA road laws are only NOW changing to make Radar Detectors illegal in WA (hence the apparent unavailability of units on the radars.com.au site), so it's a pretty safe bet that when the pigs start using RDD's here in WA ...they will mostly be the lesser units that won't detect the Stealth Ninja! If you also check out this link: http://www.radars.com.au/ You will see that there is now a new unit called the Ninja G3 Obliterator, that incorporates a detector, a laser jammer, and a laser scrambler! Sorry to hijack your post, but I did plenty of research on the pros & cons of the available models before I bought mine, ...so I just thought this might help!

The Stealth Ninja is a con... do your research.
Below are some forum threads about the Stealth Ninja product and its importer: This one is the most important as independent tests show that it performs worse than Bels and Escorts: {DESCRIPTION} {DESCRIPTION} {DESCRIPTION} The best detector for WA is the Escort X50 or the Bel RX65. Be very careful when dealing with the Ninja supplier, he has the worst reputation in the industry. |

Wow ...I stand hugely corrected!
![]() I haven't been doing any Radar Detector research since I bought mine over 8 months ago, ...so this is all news to me! My Stealth Ninja is still working fine against the Multanovas, I guess it's the RDD's I should now be worried about! Thanks for the update Adam.

Here in Qld they use hand held LADAR's as the main weapon & speed cameras & car mounted RADAR's in that order. Is there anything that is used to detect the LADAR's?
