yes, it will slot straight in, yes they are slightly different, mainly the handbrake setup

Now that I think of it, it must be an EL one. XR8's had 3.23 or something in the EF and EL S1 if I recall correctly.

EF and EL series 1 XR8's had 3.23 LSD.
only EL II XR8 got 3.45.

the el lsd will bolt straight into a ef aslon as you have the complete el handbrake setup, i did it on my ef mont when i had it.
