a 9 in diff can fit in most cars

there is a great deal of work required to modify the nine housing and axles to suit a particular vehicles

here are a few pitures of a 9 in diff made to fit a LC torana
the diff and axle assemble fits straight into the torana using all the torana brakes and hand brake assemble the customer wanted a 1 inch shorter than stock and torana stud pattern

note all ends that are parted of the housings are dowelled for extra strenght

all brackets are dressed and jig wleded for correct alignment

all axles are trued in and machined surfaces splines is cut cold so not strength lost

stud pattern changed also to suit the application in this case all torana bolt ons fit the diff

all work carried out in house and garrantted

will post a few of the falcon diffs i have modified shortly

Can you do conversions for an LJ torana?

What would a 9 inch with 28 spline axles and a mini spool cost with disk brakes and commodore stud pattern?

Am I better off to find a diff assembly and give it to you to convert or is it better to get you to source the parts?

hi

ur best option in my opinion is yes a XY length differential as they measure 59 inches axle flange to axle flange , discard the drum brakes and use the EL type brakes (REAR ) set up that has a seperate handbrake shoes and nice cute calipers would be hard to adapt to the housing and if future brake upgrade required ie biggger rotors and calipers it will be a straight forward fit cuase the way the backing plates are designed

XY nine housing and axles generally sell for about $ 500 to $ 600
EL diff to get all the necassery brakes and brackets $100 to $ 200

and then u need to make the mods either pay someone or attempt it urself

cheers
