so with these throttle bodys when u fit them does the idle speed change because of the larger diamater,so what do you do to get it to idle like factory again and have the revs returning like factory.
cheers

different cars will react differently depending if its auto, manual, mods done to the car or not, there are a few ways to get around it.

1. idle screw adjustment
2. new ISC gasket with smaller holes
3. Disconect ISC and increase base idle
4. J3 chip

its up to you which way you go....

just put this t/b in my ef and i must say it is a great mod! straight away i felt a difference in my rev range, and no longer have a flat spot bewteen 2000-2500rpm..Changed my exhaust tone slightly aswell (its got the pop and crackle sound now). Will race at wsid , but i can't really give a before and after because i havent raced since last year and ive done a stack of mods since then.

only issue i have is that it idles at around 900rpm (dunno if this is a problem?) and the revs hang for about 3 seconds at 1500 when i put the clutch in. Hopefully it goes good at 5am for the cold start.

sounds like a good result there, i had mine idling at about the 900 mark too, any lower and cold starts can be a little bit grumpy, you can modify your TPS to get around that rev hang, give me a buzz and ill help you out...

i have one EF/EL and one EA left...

only way i could fix that was to get a Chip, i got a SCT eliminator chip and my car runs sweet now.

you can also elongate the holes in the TPS and rotate it a bit to lower the voltage reading, this will eliminate most of the rev hang...i know for a fact that this works.

ISC's suck testicals.
I have a cover plate for the ISC (think it was from you Vince?), and also a J3.
Manual + ISC = EPIC FAIL .

yes they do, especially when cams are involved!
manuals even rev hang a bit from standard!

yeah that cover plate was from me...

by disconnecting the ISC and modifying the TPS you can get away with it...

but if the tps is already reading in the idle voltage range (0.55-0.80v) then you would assume nothing much will change with further adjustment?
