Speaker pods suit EF/EL series falcon and could be used for Tweeters / Midrange / co-axials such as some shown below. You would need to check moutngin sizes and depth's.

JBL i have heard these and the're a nice sounding speaker and VERY reasonably priced (less than $100 i think)
<IMG SRC="http://pic14.picturetrail.com/VOL555/2287184/6851812/97769085.jpg">

MB Quart - Very good industry reputation - i had there 6.5" splits and they were a nice speaker
<IMG SRC="http://pic14.picturetrail.com/VOL555/2287184/6851812/97769117.jpg">

Boston Accoustics

Sony also make one and some other brands so there is a few to choose from.

If you were to mount 3" midrange and tweeter in the pod then mout the 6.5" midbass in the doors to maintain a nice heigh / tight soundstage.

These are terriffic on axis pods that work very well in ensuring good stage height and imaging accross the car.

Some dimensions are
- 3" cutout
- 4" bolt up face
- 2" deep in the middle

Cost me $360 to have custom made
Asking $50 the pair (note sepakers not included)

Housing midrange and tweeter in here would provide a nice heigh soundstage

How well do they match the EL colour?

There isn't a normal mount in EF's for 4" speakers.

In answer to questions, they sound A LOT better as the speakers are on axis & not difusing accross the glass. I would never use the standard tweeter locations.

Colour wise they are a pretty good match, a little darker then the A-pillar itself but the whole interior is contrasting shades of grey so it matches nicely.
