hey mate just wondering have soundstream ls652's in the rear which rated at 120 rms, and s type 2ways in the door just wondering if either of those top amps would be suitable.? I was told to look at something with a higher rms than the speakers, but both jb and autobarn tried selling me something in the 50rms range.

Gasman - they are instants
Oz - having more power than what the speakers are rated at is known as 'headroom' - it simply means that your amps don't have to work as hard to supply them power...also means improved performance at higher volumes (having a lower noise floor etc). What you could do is bridge the 4 channel amps to 2 channel amps - that would give you oodles of power. Type S 2 ways would be rated at 50 rms...so either of the MRV-F401 or MRV-F400 would do the job. |
