Ef reco head, chain set, guides, lifters head bolts.
All the above were fitted to an engine that ran for 2 hours . Explanation, bought an EF with an engine noise, Thought-big ends. replaced them, still got noise. next great thought, timing chain, replaced that, guides, adjuster. still got noise. third stroke of genius, lifters, while removing, broke a stud. (life will get better next time around, maybe I'll come back as a rock) Got an exchange cylinder head. Started it,STILL got noise! friend dropped in, in 5 seconds said "the gudgeons are noisy......" Bought a 2nd hand 80K EL engine, runs great,Junked block etc. have been keeping the above stuff for spares, The El runs like new, won't need them. $400 the lot. No offers,Pick up only. Leichhardt NSW,

Not really, the head is complete, rockers everything, all assembled, ready to bolt on,(rocker cover as well- crackle finish black), the chain and guides etc. are things that should be done at same time.they all age at about the same rate. (also have reciepts for over $600- trade prices)

They were new when head fitted, not even on long enough to re-torque. as mentioned above ,engine only run a couple of hours, reciepts for purchase available,(the original 12 year old headbolts probably still in my nuts and bolt bin if you wanted them as well-it's the time and pressure on them that kills them,no problem re-using the ones offered with the head. )

Actually, the head bolts are one use only bolts. They are designed to stretch, and are not meant to be retensioned.
New bolts would be the only way to go. BenJ
