Get the thousand in your hand and you have got yourself a good deal, you would be lucky to get $800 on a t5 conversion

be worth more if it was an EL as the EL ECU is compatible with EA-ED and EL but EF is only compatible with EF...
A grand is the absolute most I'd pay... mostly because I'd rather put a manual XR J3 chip in my current ECU for 100 bucks because you can then fine tune stuff you need to. Having said that, it's worth what someone would pay.... I'd sell it to him for a grand. |

How a good a mate is he? Personally I'd feel bad ripping my mates...
For that sort of dollars I'd be wanting everything if I was him - pedal box, clutch cable, flywheel, clutch kit, spigot bearing, box and shifter, gearknob, boots, ECU and bolts. If your converting yours to auto it would also be nice to give him the wiring to the box so he can keep his neat |

Yeah considering a lot of people say they'll pay x dollars, you've got to get someone to come up with the cash, i paid less than half for my complete conversion, the guy had been trying to sell for some time. including elxr ecu. I was blown away when i put it on ebay as i have an ef, and has been mentioned the ef ecu's are a lot less desirable.
For a k I'd be offering to help him do the change over.

I paid 750 for a full conversion with 170k kms about 2 years ago, having said that the box wasnt in the best condition. I had to buy a new clutch, clutch cable, clutch pin and some other little things needed to do the conversion. Ended up costing just shy of $1100 in the end. 1k Seems fair if everything is in good condition.

Personally I wouldn't do the conversion without using a brand new clutch kit, clutch cable and spigot bearing. It's not worth the hassle using second hand parts, I would assume most people would factor this into there costing. |
