1997 EL XR6 manual in Heritage Green (approx. 167,500kms) licensed until July 2009. Replacement bottom end and new head (built and assembled by Southside Engine Centre) installed in July 2008 @ 164,000kms with: - Wiseco pistons; - Scat rods; - Sump fitting to suit turbo oil drain line; - Various balancing, grinding, honing of bore, deck plate, crank, etc; and - Head extensively ported with new valves (3 angle cut) and HLA's. Approx $10K spent Installed new with replacement engine and or since mid-late 2008: - Starter motor, battery, radiator, water pump, thermostat (Powerstat), water hoses, MSD custom leads, fuel filter; - DBA 4000 series slotted rotors with new brake pads & wheel bearings; - Custom seat covers with ford logo; - Black plush carpet; and - Sony speakers (6” doors, 6”x9’’ rear deck (not cut), 12” sub woofer). Other Embleton Engineering Custom Twin Throttle Body Intake. EMS 8860 engine management with hand controller & wide band A/F sensor. Custom Ground SureCams Cam (Street/Comp). Crane H/D double row springs. Crane LX-91 ignition and Hi-6 Coil packs (5800 rpm rev limiter). Sequential scoops, lower SS induction and K&N air filter in fiberglass SVO air box. 24lb Ford Motorsport injectors. SVO short shifter. Suspension – Koni adjustables with King Spring Super Lows. 2.5inch exhaust - Pacemaker series 2 headers, Magnaflow hi flow cat, Magnaflow ceramic muffler. After market gear knob & steering wheel (non airbag). 5” tacho with shift light. 17” AMG quake rims and tires with good tread (curb damage on rims). Clarion head unit and 2 amplifiers. Green window tint. Custom Plates. Tuned by Ovaboost. Known issues – Front spoiler scrape-age (front suspension??), ABS code. Spares/parts if wanted by new owner: - Original rear spoiler; - Stock upper plenum; - Spare Lower BBM; - Stock injectors; - Switch chip eliminator; and - Stock steering wheel (air-bag intact). looks smick - how do you find the twin TB setup and did you end up slapping a turbo on this setup (going off the decompressed comment above)

Well it only costs a couple hundred bucks plus ownership transfer fees etc to have it freighted to SA or not too long a drive

but its probably best that I dont get another car right now anyway out of curiosity would it need to be run accross the pits to be registered in another state?? |

You have to check with your state authority as every state/terroritory differs SA may allow you to present evidence of the modifications etc however they may still say unless you have actuall engineering certificates to say the mods wont present environmental etc issues such as an emissions test it may have to go over the pits...being still N/A you maybe able to get away with it.

The total setup - and TTB's need it - had good pre-rebuild HP numbers. Built for boost but never finished. |
