I'm assuming these are more spl style of speakers, being 2 ohm, as opposed to more sq focused speakers, like say focals?

Not up to speed with what you are saying there, more of a mech than audio expert. are you saying more for sound volume than clarity. If so I dont think JBL would be any less refined than equivilent speakers on the market and would probably be very good BFYB. I purchased them originally as I had a JBL 12" sub in the past and found it to be orsm in sound and clarity, comparing against relatives and friends setups at the time. Very loud tight bass. I found my single JBL 12" sub to be as good as my brothers twin Alpine 12" Bass Subs. We both had TX3 lasers at time, I was running a cheap Tenvox 4x100 amp bridged on 2 channels for sub. brother ran Alpine V12 amp. A friend ran 3 Kicker 12" subs in a Fairlane with muliply Kicker amps. I was disapointed to say the least. Had a neighbour tell me his coffee was moving on his table, another on the other side ask if I could turn it down as his neighbour said his house was falling apart. Both times tuning it through my acustic XM3. Was outside a coles super market waiting for missus to get some meat from the deli, I was parked just on the other side of the wall to where it was under a cpvered pick up area. I was getting a bit bored and decided to scare people as they walked past. There was this song that would start of with some vocals and then come in with a huge bass thump. On memory it was at 23 seconds. I would time it to boom as a person got close to the car. Not only did it scare them but embarrassed the missus as people where asking each other if it was thunder and she knew what it was. She came out telling me the whole roof inside just vibrated. Only reason I am selling these JBL splits is because I picked up some Comp series Clarions and hoping being a dearer speaker setup that they will be better. Caught my eye with there chrome meshed style cones, look pretty trick. I would say the JBL's would really crank with the huge magnet they have. I originally had 2 sets of these speakers with the other set being sold to a work friend. Dying for him to fit them so I can compare with my Clarions. He has been as slack as me as I have not fitted mine as yet either. |

If you are interested PM me your Post code and I will get a exact price. Could send cheaper by sending regular post but not safe for you and I would look to good if it didn't turn up or it was damaged. I prefer to send Registered Insured as AU Post tend to look after the postage item a bit better. |
