Bugger. What was it?

Nothing too special Ash, you were all on the right track though. It was a nice 95 XR6 wagon, something a bit more practical and still fun to drive, as I mentioned earlier
He didn't get the price he was chasing either, so decided to keep it. I would have paid the asking price, but needed to offload mine first. Ah well, the Lane stays in safe hands for now

And the LWB world rejoices! The 'Lane would have gone to some douche who would have given it no where near as much love as you do Mick. Good to hear it's staying in safe hands!

All good mate, I seem to have come to my senses for now. It did worry me that some redneck would have picked it up and that would have been bad

Was that a red one?

Nope, white one from down south.
But I know the red one your talking about. I sent the guy a message, he lives in Bulahdelah. Seems like it has been looked after though, and the high k's on it are probably justified considering where he lives.

Now that you're keeping her, I can tell you, if I haven't already what happened to my first big girl, my ZB fairlane, sold it to a mate when I got the ZD, he onsold it to a guy out St Mary's or Mt Druitt way who speared it a** first into a pole at 140 kmh! putting the p/side taillight up behind the drivers seat, I met the guy at AFD one year and he told me where it was so I could go see her - I don't think so! - who'd wanna see that!

I know what you mean. I sold my ZC to my brother. Big mistake!

He had a mechanic convince him to "rebuild" the original unopened 302 to "get more power out of it" Needless to say, the rebuild of the donk was the beginning of the end for the old girl. The work was shonky and he had nothing but trouble with it. It now lies in a shallow grave on a farm out the back of Cessnock  Mr brother always reminds me that it is still there, but after over ten years of sitting in a paddock, I can't bring myself to go and see her.
I have been tempted, but it would be a complete ground up rebuild and I just don't have the time at this stage of my life to be tackling something that full on.

Hooray! The 'lane is saved from certain death! But Mick, At least now more modding can happen (or you can "move" all the inside and outside onto a wagon  )
