I'm the same. I have over 100 positive feedback, probably would be closer to 150 if everyone did the right thing by me as I did for them.
But still, the current bidders I have, have 0 feedback and look as if they have just opened thier accounts so that they can bid on the Lane, which is why I suspect that they are FM members. Problem is that they have made no effort to contact me about the car. Don't know about you guys, but I always have questions and do my background checks before I bid on any car. I also try to inspect the car beforehand where possible. Very easy to do RTA and REVS checks when the details posted are correct. I did have a guy from the North Coast that wanted to buy the car, and he too had a car for sale that my old man was interested in. Sounds like it could have been a quick and easy deal. But when I started doing checks, the details of the car for sale bounced on both the RTA and REVS. I asked for the correct details, managed to get the correct VIN number, but would not provide an engine number. Simple really, we walked away from making any bids on said vehicle. Not everyone out there is interested in doing the right thing or being straight forward in their dealings I have no confidence that the car will sell this time either, despite their being bids on it. My last resort will be to part it out, which I really do not want to do. It would be a shame to destroy a perfectly good car, but on the other hand, I would probably make much more money than what I am currently asking for

ashcook wrote: I bet you would triple the money if you parted it out. But the time it takes plus the advertising and posting out takes a lot more. If you can make a sale and have it all gone it one hit, it is much easier. Wait till the auction is over though. It is quite surprising when there is no reserve and some bids down, how many people get excited and caught up in the auction hype and talk themselves into really wanting the car. Auctions really help the sheep factor in people, including genuine buyers so it may go well yet. It just takes a start to get it rolling. Typically if I want X dollars for something and start the listing at that price, I wont get it. But if I start the listing at half of X, the auction will finish back at the original X value. Happens all the time. You just have to start the "this might be a bargain" thought in the buyers minds then they will just bid a little more, then a little more. That's the plan Ash. I would hate to part it out, only for the reason that it is completely unnecessary. But I can't keep it here anymore, not about the money. Well, it seems that asking the bidders to contact me had the desired result. 1 has already retracted their bid claiming that they entered the wrong amount f**k tyre kickers I don't know how you do it mate. It's driving me nuts. New signs going on the lane this weekend. "Best Offer"

Exactly!
Will be moving onto the little reserve across the road from my place as well to maximise exposure. At this stage, it will be my best option to move it on I think. Had a few people drop by and have a look, but no phone calls as yet.

haha! I'm surprised it hasn't been taken already actually, but we don't tend to see many rednecks up our way. Must be the steep walk up the hill that keeps them away

Note a great idea as most council's forbid the display of cars for sale on public land such as reserves and so you maybe fined for it. |

you will find that if it has plates on it they will leave it alone as your allowed to have for sale signs up while your parked, like if you have it in the rear window you can park at a shopping center. if the check rego they might give you a warning first, but then simply just move it back.
i really wish i had some spare cash, shame that soo many people are stuffing you about |

Huggie, here in NSW the councils can dictate where you are allowed to park vehicles with For Sale Signs on them.
They can and do issue infringement notices if you are in the wrong place. Your front yard is of course OK, but it is wise to check with the local council. Cheers BenJ

How quickly things can change eh! Yesterday arvo I was toying with the idea of parting it out, but now I'm 99% certain it's gunna sell.
The current highest bidder's history is pretty good considering he has bought 10 cars so far this year, mostly old fords Better start prepping my next item for sale
