Looks like it had an aftermarket alarm LED there. May I suggest fitting a new LED there that flashes when the ignition is off. It may just deter a possible thief from trying to break into it.

Hey, just wondering, is the Ghia boot varnish the spear with the Ghia badge on it, or is it the crome number plate surround?
