Huh? I assume you havnt read the very first post of the thread

stomper wrote:
Group Buy 3" STAINLESS STEEL Intakes for EF/EL/AU

Stomper and Mongoose (Ben and Sam) are doing a group buy for 3" Stainless Steel replacement intakes for EL, EL and AU 6 cylinder falcons.

And to Mongoose, nothing personal against anyone you, but putting all the blame on Stomper is not very professional of you, and acting like you never had any involvment and are taking no responibilty for the slow progress is not very valiant. Even if it is Stomper's fault, you organised this with him, so you should stop telling people its not your fault as your representing this group buy from the very start

FordFairmont:

Sam offered to help Ben out with the group buy in the first place by posting gear and testing designs.

Sam supplied Ben with his EL intake bits for the single pipe for the EL elbow piece to be made up, which he still has not received back even though the design was made up months ago.

As of the last couple of weeks, none of us have been able to contact Ben so we really don't know what is going in regards to them. If you look in his profile, he has not been online since the 30th of November.

It is very rough to treat Sam the same way as Ben at the moment. Hell, sam is on here trying to sort this out, Ben is the one who is not communicating with everyone.

...I didn't have a part in the group buy from the start, however I became involved when my car was borrowed to have intake designs measured up on it etc, and when Ben asked me to post updates

I will let everyone know as soon as possible when there is progress with this whole (s**t+fan+stomper) ordeal.

Simon

Surely someone knows where he lives. Go round and see him and speak to his folks.

definetly what needs to be done I think. easy to avoid phonecalls, harder to ignore someone at your house going "WTF"

I have had a bad feeling about this group buy for some time now, stomper has had a PM from me with details he needed to process the refund for over a month which he hasnt read - during that time he was active on the forums and posting in this thread and others. All i can conclude from that is he simply did not want to deal with it... the last time I talked to him on the phone, he said he would take a day off work and go to the bank - i was quite suprised, because he still hadnt read the PM with the bank details (.....), I said as much (I was a little annoyed at this stage). he said something about his internet and no time, but it worked well enough to post, just not read pm's i guess...

so i am not realy sure what is going on ... seems like a nice guy, could just be really busy? but at the same time, he has quite a large chunk of our money and doesnt seem to care - really needs to get some s**t sorted out.

Sam.

Ford Fairmont - i have read the first post and i also know the background of this that sam was roped in because he was able to supply packaging and boxes for stomper to post these out. Mongoose has had little to no involvement in actually getting tehse intakes done, he has only become involved because stomper was slack and not getting to this Exhaust technology place to get stuff done.
We will do our best to help in this situation but there really isnt much we can do - it is a buyer beware situation as with all dealings on these and other sites.
Of course we do our best to try and help and if we are certain that a member has ripped off another we will ban them from our forums.
But we have no control in obtaining the money back from some one, all we can do is put the hard word on them and put the pressure on them thru contacting them at there residence's etc

The only option i see is to ban Group buys completely, which would solve all these problems. Unfortunately it only takes a couple of bad eggs and one deal to go wrong and wreck it for the genuine people who do group buys in a timely and fashionable manner - Ie Heat Shields Group Buys.

Worst comes to worst... Anyone know his full name and rego number... We could always make a complaint to the police, surely this comes under the banner of "Obtaining funds by deception" perhaps the local sargeant knocking on his door to inform him a complaint has been made about him for a possible Fraud would get him off his backside?

We will be consulting the police before any action is taken. Hopefully they can give us an idea as to what the best course of action would be.

I sure as hell don't want to be charged for something stupid like trespassing or wrongful possession of goods if Simon and I go round to Stomper's house and take the intakes.

I know it's hard but we just need patience as this is a delicate situation and it will need to be handled carefully.

Smart move mate... The bottom line is I very much you'll be able to walk in and take the intakes, however, like I said, if you have a couple of coppers with ya and remind him that he's bordering on fraud, with a bit of luck he'll hand them over.

Also, he's 17 right? I think his parents (presuming he lives with them) will legally be able to hand them over if need be?

Good luck though mate!

Well the truth is, they don't even belong to him! They belong to everyone who's handed money over to Stomper. Including me!

Yeah, I agree with you there, but that's not the way the law works IIRC...

Anyway, good luck mate!

i feel sorry for you guys that paid your hard earned money . this has to be the biggest joke of a situation i've ever heard on a forum....anywhere. i was also on the pre-order list and pulled out knowing a 'kid' was trying to organise a mans job. again i feel for you guys, as this is way beyond ANY apologies whatever happens now. the time for excuses ran out months ago.

Stuff like that surprisingly doesn't help the situation. You haven't bought an intake so this doesn't affect you.
