Exactly what I was going to do with mine... The mounting bracket looks like s**t...

We would like to notify all those who are wanting to use this intake pipe in conjunction with a POD filter.
This air intake pipe is a direct swap over for your existing factory intake setup. The stainless steel pipe does not extend into the airbox to connect up a POD filter. It will be hose-clamped onto a silicon joiner which will join into your airbox in exactly the same way that your existing air intake pipe does. If you are wanting to use a POD filter with this set up then you will have to do a modification like is found in this Technical Document; http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=23157 At this stage we are not offering a setup which can be used in conjunction with a POD filter so please don't ask. After this group buy we will be looking into designing a setup which can accomodate a POD filter.

So will these things only look good, or will they provide a (small) performance boost too?
I'm interested in the 2nd design, but dont have the EL joiner. If you could source me one for a few bob extra then I'd def be in... as long it actually does something other than looks. Cheers |

The most that can possibly be gained from modifying your intake is slightly better fuel economy and throttle response and a maximum of 5 extra kw.
There are a million threads on "What Does Modifying My Intake Do For Performance?" So in answer to your question, having a nice free flowing intake pipe may give you an extra 2 or 3kw but is mainly just for show. But! every little bit helps!

Righto... Guess I'll be in for the $80 odd dollar one. How much would you blokes charge me for the EL piece? I could probably just go and get one from the wreckers, but just looking for a price
Cheers |

Honestly it would be easier and just as cheap if you tried to get an EL rubber piece from a local wreckers. We could source one eventually but they aren't overly easy to come by. One should set you back roughly $35.

No problem mate.
Has a set postage price been decided on yet? When you get them made up (or need payment, whatever comes first) send me a pm/email. |
