quick question Lee, i cant remember if it was posted anywhere in this thread, or in the thead on AFF... but obviously the most of us will be installing this kit with the gearbox already installed... what is required to access the two 'hidden' bolts to undo the old shifter and install the new?? Obiously it seems we'll have to somehow drop the gearbox to access them? whats the best way to go about?

Sorry for the long post ;)

Dave

Get underneath the car, support the back of the gearbox with a trolley jack, then undo the 2 bolts that hold the box to the floor pan and just gently lower the jack. Once its at its lowest point, jump back in the car and you will see the 2 hidden bolts.

it's almost time to start a new thread i think. i just fitted kilma's shifter and it was a bit trickier than i thought it'd be.

it being a v8 didnt help the matter when dropping the rear crossmember to access the mounting bolts. once that was sorted it probably took longer to adjust the stoppers than it did to fit the shifter as getting a bee's d**k of adjustment out of such a course thread is time consuming.

also the metal plate for the sealing grommet needs to be filed as it hits the rear adjustment bolt. that aside it isnt hard just fiddly.

all up took a little over an hour and it feels awesome - nearly creamed me daks again, i know damon is now while he's driving home.
