Wade was spot on.. except I found the front two bolts easier to get at with a short ringy from under the car. But it may be different with the EA/B/D as I have an EF?! but you definately need to lower the box as per Wades post.

hotwire i did mine the same way, i started doing the front bolts at my house , thought f**k it then payd my mate at ford service down the road a visit and we did it in their pit for a 4 pack of beam black but its easy as, drop the box, unbolt, put new shifter in, SET THE STOPS, then bolt back up (you cant re adjust the front one with the tranny in place) then put ur car back to gether, and drive, i must say. i bolted mine up on the rhs to counter act the lhs bias and it feels incredible, shifts are lightening quick, 2 - 3 change is unbelievable, lee you have out done urself

it being a v8 didnt help the matter when dropping the rear crossmember to access the mounting bolts. once that was sorted it probably took longer to adjust the stoppers than it did to fit the shifter as getting a bee's d**k of adjustment out of such a course thread is time consuming. also the metal plate for the sealing grommet needs to be filed as it hits the rear adjustment bolt. that aside it isnt hard just fiddly. all up took a little over an hour and it feels awesome - nearly creamed me daks again, i know damon is now while he's driving home. Not far off there mate. Cheers for the help. I owe you one. Very fiddly job, but worth it.
