I cannot believe how much trouble you've had to get rid of this! I wish I had seen it before I bought mine a couple months ago now but.

OK - GOOD NEWS - All tested and working AOK - and I probably forgot to mention that it was recently serviced by Alpine Oz recently too :)

I have just hooked it all up and the player has no NTSC problems at all...it was my old screen that lead me to that presumption...this will work with ANY screen that has an RCA input for video (which is pretty much most of them out there!).

No more stuffing around - someone buy it off me, or it sees ebay !

Cheers,
Steve

a few questions on suitability before i build up your excitment too much!!

With his screen, its the one in the H/U. If i were to plug the RCAs into it (assuming thats what it has) it should take care of pumping the sound through the speakers shouldnt it?

Silly question i know, but i havent done much research into them before.

And what does it need in the way of connections? Just acc/12v/gnd? And rcas?

And how long had you been using it for? And what was the reason you were selling it? (just want to cover all my bases)

Thanks,

Nic

Thanks again

Nic

Nic,

Get me the model number of your brother's Alpine screen - I will tell you if / how to connect it up.

Connectivity is via AiNet for headunit control (ie from the screen) and to power the unit, there is 4 wires - 12V, accessories (switched 12v), ground and remote (so you can use the remote control IR sensor from the Alpine headunit) to control the DVD player too.

I don't have an original box...so sorry, it may look like a 'cashies' Chrissy present lol...but hey - one of these went for $500 on ebay about 2 weeks ago but it was silver...go figure *shrugs*.

Yes I can send to Cairns - postage / insurance at your cost (I can get good deals through my old man - he deals with couriers everyday at work).

Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.

- Steve

PS, The manual is available in PDF form on the net.

He has a CVA-1000e

I was looking around for manuals and install booklets and stuff on the net yesterday, and i saw that it needs to hook in through the tuner, and then set a switch on that to use that channel.

Sorry, but that isnt really practical for this case, cause the tuner is kinda hidden!!

And finances may be a little tight at the moment also.

So i am really sorry to do that to you. :(

PS: maybe it deserves to be ebayed!!

It will hook up to the CVA-100E no worries - unsure what you're on about connecting via tuner ?

It will connect via AiNet so you can have control via the screen or simply through RCA video input (the CVA has at least 1 input for TV / VCR - this is stated in the manual).

Anyway, I think I will ebay it - nothing but tyre kickers on here lol !
