Hey Guys,

For sale is the following.

* Dev5A 4L Head, fully assembled with Dev5A Cam

* JMM Mandrel Bent/Ceramic Coated 3" Intake Pipe

* JMM Race Series Extractors (Ceramic Coated) + Adapted AU Cat

Intake and Extractors have only travelled ~2000KM. Head/Cam has travelled approx 20,000KM with new guides/springs and inspection ~2000KM ago.

Proven 183RWKW combo on VERY tired 240,000KM stock bottom end using the old Scavenger Extractors and Stock Intake pipe!

Require money for other investments.

I'm not sure what to expect, however I'd like to get around $2400ono for the lot to make the sale worthwhile. This would make for a VERY good bang for buck bolt on for any 4L buyer. My Drive In/Drive Out price at JMM was over $6000!

The Extractors are $790 new, Intake is $390, and the Dev5a assembled head is worth around $2400 (Mailorder prices from JMM)

Im up for a headgasket soon so id be be able to take the head+cam+ intake pipe (im assuming the pipe os for a BBM - got one of them anyway) will it run with a stock ECU and injectors? gotta chase HP now, mums new AU XR6 can eat my car and im not happy (cos she knows it)

Edit, Dev5a requires your ECU to be chipped to idle properly doesnt it? you selling your chip too?

Yes, intake pipe is for BBM. Also includes the upper airbox and the secret JMM pod filter already fitted. Worth 8RWKW on the crescent dyno as demonstrated by ^jAsE^ at our first dyno day here in Syd.

The 183RWKW which I posted was with the stock GLi ECU and stock injectors. 19# injectors are busy at ~180RWKW, and if youre looking for any more peak power or seeking power at higher RPM's you will need to look at 24# which definantly requires another ECU.

The Dev5a kit is now sold by JMM with the recommendation for a Unichip (or any tunable ECU solution). This is mainly due to idle issues, im sure with some playing around you could get it to idle (around 900rpm i'd guess..). When I had the kit installed, JMM said it would be fine without the Unichip and hence I drove it every day to work in peak hour, etc for approx 6 months before getting the Unichip. The unichip didnt gain anything up top, but did improve the idle and the power under the curve.

I'd highly suggest getting a Megasquirt kit to help control the fuel delivery.. these can be landed for ~$200 i beleive. Check out the Megasquirt thread in the ECU forums. Hyena might build one up for you for a few $$ if you arent good with PCB :) Anyone who spends any sort of money modifying a car who doesnt look at a tunable fuel system is really wasting their time and money.

dammit, go and ruin my nieve hopes why dont ya, :D

So i can get away with running it on stock ECU and injectors for a while, what was it like on fuel (booting it and dawdling around)?

Fuel consumption will improve on the highway, be about the same around town driving normally, and be higher when your foot is right down :)

Highway these Dev5's will see 7-8L/100 (5sp with 3.45 @ 100-120KM/hr)
Around town with conservative driving and a few boot fulls 12-15L/100
Sydney 500 racing around like a maniac all day long 18-22L/100

Its far more economical than my stock 165KW V8!

You will have no problems driving it around with the stock ECU, however you will need to put up with stalling at idle often, or raise base idle and take some tips from those who have the Wade Stage 2 cam's idling well :)

I cant see how you could turn down the megasquirt concept though.. everyone should have one, modded or not :)

Unfortunately I sold the Unichip to JonBays several months ago.

i had a quick calculator session, and 183RWKW is about 250 (ISH) FWKW, waaaaaaay over what im allowed to have on P's, plus thats almost double the power i have now, sounds sooooo tempting (in a pants creaming kinda way) but id end up killing myself (or my car).

damn this being a responsible grown up crap.
