Hey,
My mate has an ED XR6 he wants to sell, and is wondering what he could get for it.

1993 ED XR6
5-Speed
Cobalt Blue
174,000km
2.5" Exhaust
Tow-bar
6-stacker + Sony CD Head Unit
MOMO cruise control steering wheel
Serviced every 5000km with Penrite HPR15

It's a pretty neat unit, what do you reckon it would fetch?
Oh and if anyone wants to buy it, make an offer!

Cheers.

I dunno they usually go for around $6000 but not alot of demand for them. A mate has a really nice one with the plates XXX-R06 and he wants 6400 for it and is having alot of trouble selling.

Yeah, I know - thats the cheapest price - for some auto thing. The dearest one's are like 8 grand.

But your right, none of those will get what they want for them.

It's a big car thing.

I think we'd all need to see it before making such calls...but yeah according to the books, they're not worth much on paper.

Personally, from the sounds of it - Cobalt is a sought after colour (I'd hit it ) and being 5 speed and obviously XR (over say a ghia). Tasteful mod with the nicer steering wheel *with* the cruise buttons and the relatively low kms...all in all, I reckon $6K is not out of the question...depends how clean / straight it is...any accidents etc.

Good luck to your mate with the sale...has he got it up on carsales.com yet ?

Family friends of mine traded their 94 ED XR6 (45,000km, auto, black, pretty much show room condition) for $18,000 3 years ago and the next owner sold it for $16,000. It's changed hands a few times since. Last time I heard it sold for $8000 last year. But a stupid friend of mine just bought a 93 5spd, black with peeling clear coat and faded paint and 220,000km for $7000. So you have a chance to get what you want... there are always a suckers.
