Got the 1/8th mile drags on tomorrow at Wilby. Hoping to get a flat 9 down the 1/8th but will settle for a 9.5. Running a set of M/T Drag slicks, and bringing spare axles this time... After breaking 1 on my second run at Heathcote. Are any other Fordmods members going?

Feel free to post up your 1/8th mile times, even from Heathcote.

ballizticbobo - heathcote 9.57@76mph - Wilby 9.75@???

Yup, took a spare set!
Pulled 5 runs and pulled the axles, both were twisted so I replaced both.
Next set pulled 10 runs, and they are rooted! So I put the first set back in!
Should be good for another 5 runs... fingers crossed!
Killed another clutch though. Should be fitting it on saturday. 10" 5 puck brass button sprung centre and a HD EF XR6 pressure plate.
So far i'm up for over $300+ and I still need to buy another flywheel...

Cam, what diameter in inches are your stockys? Cos I just found a set of 22" tall MT slicks that I might be changing to for the cortina. With these slicks, I can run a 3.23 diff instead of the 3.7 I'm currently running, and then I'll be able to cruise on the highway at 3300rpm instead of 4000rpm with the 3.7:1 gears! My current slicks are 26" tall. And my stockys are 23" tall.

Check out the calcs on the link below to work out the best diff gears to suit your car...

Yeh i had an alright day. 7.6 @ 84MPH. Who are you mr man? Yeh that time was from sunday. i came second for the day. Couldnt race for first as lost ioil pressure and didnt have enought time to investigate. After doing some investigating it was a loose rocker which let the lifter jump out so yeh all fixed now which is good. I have a xd falcon with a 351 cleveland in it. Mild hyd cam, ported heads, 850dp carb, weiand xcellerator manifold, 10.8:1 comp, Thats about it. Cant get a pic up cause all to big but can email if want
