Well today thought I'd jump in one of those lanes that is left free cause it ends on the other side of the intersection, at first I wasn't gonna even try then some guy pulled in behind me too so on with the POWER, next to me was a hilux, one of those new ones. It was dead even till I hit about 3500rpms, now I was rather disappointed with my car :( , It has extractors exhaust and a cam, stupid auto!

Anyways specs of the Hilux I assume it was

175KW@5200
376nM@3800

Gear Ratio
1st 3.520:1
2nd 2.042:1

Final Drive
3.583:1

Our E series are getting on and now that a Toyota 4WD is almost beating us is embarassing.

Need a manual :)

the old man has a brand new v6 hilux, and yes it will put most of us to shame..

it smokes in 3rd, and it killed the fairlane by about a car length.

and it aint a bad car to drive, quite nice

LOL, too true aye.
E series is just getting too long in the tooth now; all the newer cars have more power stock than these and well even with mods good luck.

I wouldnt line up an EB with a hilux; they can move just like most cars coming out now.

there's a sleeper 98 hilux that has a little m27 supercharger bolted to the side.
it runs low 15's.
not bad for a 2.7L

C'mon guys. I find it hard to believe that we're gettin' beaten or even have competition with Hilux's???

I don't know about a stock Hilux beating any half decent Falcon.

Then again my old man nearly got embarassed by a Toyota Kluger 4WD in his XR6 Turbo.

It was raining and they took off from the lights. My old man said the Kluger sat with him side by side while his traction controll light was going off it's tits. That would have shat me to tears. Even in the rain...

In the dry would have been a different story :)

Who cares if you get beaten in a straight line by a lux.
Show me a lux, that can stay with me through ANY corner...

True.

Mate, if I got done at the lights by ANY Hilux, I'd be reaching for the razor blades.

I would never live it down.

some people get them to move QUICKLY.
they can scrub up alright.
the shape isn't bad in the later models either.
too bad they don't handle for s**t, even with a decent set of brakes/springs, they're still crap.

i'm with you on that i went hammering around this corner 1 time that a bloke in a lux rolled it on at 80km/h
i did the same corner at 95km/h with a fair bit of rear end drift but didn't f**k roll it
