find a "private road" away from town/people/cats/greenies, then launch at higher and higher rpm.
eg: hold at 2500rpm, then slip the clutch to keep grip, takes some practice. a big point though, the drag track is VERY differant to the "private roads" the government put around for us, in levels of grip. |

try and run the tallest sidewall you can (15" stockies) and run them at around 18-20psi, this will get them to bag a bit and help with the launch, even if they are smaller width then your normal tyres this will still take off better. (plus you can say to your mates i ran xx.xx with stockies on...). then just play with your launch each run, i would think somewhere around 2500-3000rpm would be a good starting point.
most importantly kick some holden but while your at it......

what size tyres have you currently got?
as has been mentioned, lower the pressure a bit to get some grip happening. basically you have to slip the clutch to say -3000rpm, yet have the car moving quickly off the line until it hits 3000rpm, then pull off the clutch. your best bet is to find a quiet road and practice a little.

Also when you vary your launches, move up or down 500 rpm at the most to find the sweet spot.
try 2500, if it bogs down try 3000. keep going until you find the borderline between wheel spin and a good launch. then go down 200 rpm to get get good launches, step it up if you need it( ie a car that will test yours). Go the windsor!
