( sorry late entry ) EB Fairmont, N/A 4L, T5 box, i think its 3.45 gears, Genie Extractors, 2.5 exhaust (stock cat, not mandrel bent), stage 2 camtech cam, fresh bottom end, Ti Performance j3 chip tuned by me 1560kg (close to full tank) at WSID weigh bridge + 90kg for me no dyno figures yet 9/10 Sydney dragway, freezing cold night, no track temp at all 215/65r16 cheap s**t tyres on mags i had laying around (ran with 25psi) 14.745@94.75mph 2.334 to the 60' it feels like its got alot more in it, going to put Nolathane bushes throughout the rear and get some better tyres to get off the line quicker so i can try n dump it off the line instead of riding the clutch You NEED to slip the clutch to get it off the line quick. 2.33s 60ft is shocking! get some decent tyres and slip the clutch and you should see a 1.9x 60ft, and a mid to low 14.

can anyone give me any pointers based on my stats below on how to improve my times. I am thinking my 60' are crap.
1. AU2 XR8, T56 2. 1700kgs? 3. 218 rwkw 4. 1 out of 10 (haha) 5. Perth Motorplex WAW 30.9C 6. Dunlop SP3000 7. 14.445 @161.28 kph 8. 2.467 s This was my best ETA for the night, and my best 60 footer (haha). It is a manual, so I need to hone in my launch skills I think. It was a hot night though. Other stats for that run is 330' 6.314 s 660' 9.478 s @ 123.89 kph 1000' 12.185 s The car has had some work done to it and achieved 218 rwkw at BPT dyno. If I can sharpen up my 60' I reckon I could crack, and would be happy with high 13's. ...oh, I must say this was my first ever time out on a drag strip |

yea, I know the car can theoretically do it, but getting the 60' launches perfectomundo is harder in a manual. Guess I gotta learn how to drive
you have similar rwkw. what ETA and 60 foot are you getting to give me an idea. Thanks |

Thanks mate. My best for the night was 2.467 s
apparently a rule of thumb is whatever time off the 60' is twofold on your ETA. So "theoretically" if I can get my 60' under 2.0, ie knock of 0.5 s I should reduce my ETA down a whole second (mmm?) to get a mid 13. didn't realise the 60 footer was sooo critical for a good ETA. more practice. |

Yep. And yea looks like plenty more practice needed.
