haha lol "is called PRACTICE... and lots of it!! at wsid.. i would of been there at least 20 wedsdays of the last year at an average of 4.5 runs per meet.. and i have witnesses to my runs... even video footage of my runs if u want proof of my 2.0 sixty footers.. even pics on badgerphotography.com of me at the drags happily lighting up my 18s... as for the low mph... yeah.. has been on my mind... hhhhhmmmmm should be a faster unit... mayby the mis fire is holding it back a lil.. n hitting the limiter 20m short of the line in 3rd doesnt help... mayby next time will try to do the 3-4 change and see how the mph compare... least my time is good... will be even better with a few extra mph that i know it should be capeable of...

KEZZ, yes that sounds about right. depends on the other mods.

FORDFREAK, i have a mis fire aswell hence my low MPH. I seriously think if u can get into 4th before u hit limiter it might give ya an extra 1 or 2 mph.

ELXR8, 2.0 60's sounds ok with the amount of power fordfreakef has. 170rwkw remember 2.0 is very good. Im doing 2.10's but i have about 40kw's less then him lol.

Mine has a miss too and roughness to it too, it's had it since I bought the car (stock) and despite changing all the usual suspects I still can't get rid of it. Even with a completely new engine it still has it! The only thing that's still original is the coil packs and map sensor so I'm guessing it must be one of those...

There is a 355 HJ that does low 11's at Kwinana. It races in Super Street.

Give me Gonzo's 514 XY mid 9 second car any day though.

Yeah with a solid cam, twin throttle bodies and an auto you could probably do even better than that!

I rebuilt the motor after I ran that 13.5, Im sure I would have been in the 12's if I had gone down again - still with the stock manifold...

You can only go as high as 3000rpm with the factory auto. Any higher and they go into limp home mode. Mine has a 2700rpm stall, and with the 3.45 diff it consistantly ran 1.9-2.0 60ft on gas, and 2.2 N/A. Since changing to 3.9 diff gears this dropped again to 1.8 on gas and 2.0-2.1 NA. My best 60ft NA at the fordmods dragday was 2.0, and my best on the same day on gas was 1.889. A stall is a better option than diff gears. Having done mine, i have lost 1 sec on my 1/4 time as a result of getting the speedo accurate. My shifts are happening at 6000rpm, where as with an innaccurate speedo i was shifting at 5200rpm, and that gave me my best time to date. Will have that sorted this week and then on the 10/5/06, will run again at WSID and see if i can finally get that 12.

A change in diff gears will throw your speedo out but what does that have to do with the tacho ?? It's only if you've got a 180k speed limiter that it should be an issue - because it'll kick in too early (probably around 160ks) I used to have this problem when I changed my diff and ran lower profile tyres without changing the speedo sender gear and I'd hit the 180k limiter before the traps but get a trap speed of only 150 odd

The problem lies in the fact that the Auto Computer looks for a set road speed not engine revs before it changes gears. So if you correct your speedo so it is accurate after the diff gear change, then the car has to rev harder to achieve the same road speed. Hence the problem with over revving. This is only a problem if the speedo has been corrected as the Auto computer gets its speed signal from the cluster. What i need if anyone can help, is to know which pin on either the V8 Auto computer or the signal coming from the cluster is the speed signal. TRhat last time i attempted to correct this issue using the Jaycar corrector, i was given the wrong pin out for the cluster and lost my trip computer until i removed the Jaycar device. Those with a manual would not have the overrevving problem as you select the gears, not a computer.
